Actor JP Reddy, also known as JP, is ready to present a story that he believes will resonate with anyone who has moved from a village to the city in pursuit of better education. The upcoming film, Karki, directed by Tamil filmmaker Pavitran, marks his debut in Kannada cinema. JP shares insights about the film, saying, "We delve into various compelling themes in this story, including caste dynamics and the right to education on a broader scale." However, stepping into the role was not without its challenges, as JP reveals, "Initially, I was unsure if I could embody the character when director Pavitran shared the story with me. Being a city-bred individual, transforming my entire demeanor to portray a local character seemed like a daunting task. I shed 6 kilos through diet and abstaining from exercise, and only wore four shirts sourced from Gurjari market in Shivajinagar throughout the filming process. This physical transformation was essential for the character portrayal. As actors, it is imperative for us to fully immerse ourselves in the roles we play. Without this commitment, approaching a character becomes futile. To effectively embody a character, one must fully embrace that role," explains JP.
